Neighborhood Security Tips from LRPD

posted Aug 3, 2015, 7:30 AM by Rob King

Here are some tips and concerns we need to address with our neighborhoods.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to give me (404-3090) or Sgt. Johnston a call.

Next week, I will be scheduling our COPP officers to be trained by Officer Michelle Hill in security surveys.  If you would like an officer to come out, explain some security issues (high shrubs, broken locks on windows, etc.) let me know.  As soon as we get them trained, I will send them out to you-we need all the help we can get in reducing the number of property crimes we are experiencing in our area.   Remember, Officer Croson will be in a position as Acting Sergeant for the COPP squad until Sergeant Cheryl Wood returns.  His email address is

Lastly, I touched on this last night, but it needs repeating.  There are some people who are leaving their automobiles unlocked, they feel it is better than a broken window if someone wants to get into the car.  Over 56% of our Auto Breaking and Entering’s, reported in June, did not have any forced entry.  You would not believe items people are leaving in their cars-laptops, purses, wallets, prescribed narcotics!!!  Take all your valuables out of your vehicles, and LOCK THE CARS UP!!!!!

Remember, if you all need anything, do not hesitate to email me at, or call my desk phone at 501-404-3090.  We are here for you!

If anyone needs additional information about the department, issues we are having in reference to crime, or even people we are looking for, go to the Little Rock Police Department Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram.

Have a great weekend,

Lt. Tracey Campbell
