78th Fouth of July War Memorial Golf Championship

JULY 4, 5 and 6, 2014

                           An ASGA Designated Event                           




      Entries are open to all amateur golfers, with the following restrictions:  Mid-Senior  entrants shall have reached their 40th birthday by July 4, 2014; Senior entrants shall have reached their 55th birthday by July 4, 2014; and Super-Senior entrants shall have reached their 65th birthday by July 4, 2014.


Format and Schedule


     Two formats:  Stroke Play and Match Play.


     1. Stroke Play (ASGA Designated) ENTRY FEE: $110


        Four Divisions:  Open, Mid-Senior, Senior, and Super-Senior.  Each entrant shall designate the division in which he desires to compete and may compete in only one division.  Only Open Division entrants are eligible to win the championship.

      All Divisions:  54 holes stroke play to be played as follows:  Friday, July 4: 18 holes; Saturday, July 5: 18 holes;  (No 36-Hole Cut in Any Division!) Sunday, July 6: 18 holes.  At the conclusion of play for entrants in each division on Sunday, July 6, the low scorer in each division will be the 2014 Fourth of July Champion of his respective division. In the event of a tie, a sudden death playoff beginning at hole number one will be conducted immediately.


     2. Match Play (Non-Designated)  ENTRY FEE $65


     Eight-person flights, three (3) scheduled 18-hole rounds as follows: Friday, July 4: Quarterfinals (Winners advance, losers move to consolation brackets); Saturday, July 5: Semifinals (Winners advance, losers out of competition); Sunday, July 6: Finals (Winners, Runners-up, Consolation Winners and Runners-up determined). Qualifying scores must be returned by Wednesday, July 2 at 5:00 p.m. Number of flights determined by number of entries.


Deadline for Entries


       Monday, June 30, at 5:00 p.m.


     Entry Fees of $110 for Stroke Play and $65 for Match Play are payable by cash, check or money order payable to City of Little Rock and include cart for each round of competition and players’ luncheon.



Players’ Luncheon


       A catered luncheon will be provided to all competitors on Friday, July 4.




       Open Division:  Champion – Trophy and name engraved on the Paul W. Lewis, Sr., Trophy.

       Mid-Senior, Senior and Super-Senior Divisions:  Champions, respectively – Trophy

       Match Play flights: Champions - Medal


       All Divisions and Flights:  Merchandise cards based on position of finish.

       Starting times will be posted in the golf shop on Thursday, July 3.  Telephone: 501-663-0854.


Practice Rounds


       One complimentary practice round between June 30 and July 3 will be allowed for each paid entrant. Cart payment required for those using a cart.
